I'm passionate about designing great user experiences. Innately analytical, I strive to create a product with a UX that is both logical and consistent while maintaining a creative eye for visual detail. My goal is to transform the complex into something that is simple and enjoyable to use.
My process ideally starts with research that I can utilize to begin high level conceptual end to end design, which I enjoy in particular. Ideally, from there I create low-fi designs we can test and prototype to gather feedback.
Next, I may begin to create more detailed wireframes in comp form or via a prototype. As the final stage in the design process, I begin creating hi-fi mockups to show the visual design and what a finalized version of the product may look like. Once these screens have been iterated on and finalized, actual coding can begin. Towards the middle or end of the process, I may work with developers to start building out the basic foundation of the app or site such as overall layout, navigation, and general structure.
I've always had an eye for design, drawing throughout most of my childhood and being influenced by the beauty around me while living both here and overseas. After graduating high school at an American military base in Germany, I headed straight to college in FL. While studying at UWF, I became increasingly interested in digital media and how I could transform ideas onto the digital screen. After exhausting all of the digital media classes available at the time, I decided that I wanted to pursue a career in it, with an emphasis on web design and development.
So, I transferred to the International Academy of Design, a school specializing in design where I could pursue a degree doing what I loved and learning as much as I possibly could while doing it. Along the way, web design merged into Flash design and development, which brought me to UI design & front-end development, and eventually led to UX design.
After school, while living in FL, I soon realized it wasn't the state where I wanted to spend the rest of my life. I've always been an active person and loved the mountains, snow, changing of the seasons, evergreen forests, and basically everything that was not Florida (including the heat and constant sun). Living in Seattle and the PNW in general, has been a dream for a long time.
Once I finally did it (and got past everyone here saying I was crazy for leaving the sun) I have never looked back. This is definitely one of the most beautiful parts of the country and I take full advantage of it by hiking, snowboarding, mountain biking, dirt bike riding, kayaking, snowshoeing and doing anything else I can do to actively enjoy everything there is to offer here.
